An adapter to fit 144BCD track chainrings onto 130BCD road or track cranksets.
There are two orientations the adapter can be installed. The first is suited for 130bcd road cranks to move the chainring inwards for a better chain line. Road cranks generally have a greater chain line spacing near 46mm therefore the adapter is placed on the inside of the crank to achieve a chain line closer to 42mm.
The second orientation is designed for 130bcd track cranks. Track or single speed generally have a chainline closer to 42mm. On track cranks the adapter is mounted onto the front of the crankset. This configuration is neater, but can space out the chain line a couple of mm further out.
Visit our blog post on how to adjust your chainline for greatest drive chain efficiencies.
The ideal chain line for a track bike is 42mm +/- 2mm.
When the adapter is setup in the first orientation on road cranks, non aero disc chainrings must be used due to interference between the crank spider arms and the chainring.
Not all cranks will allow for a perfect chain line. Extra chainring or sprocket spacers may need to be used to fine tune the chain line.
